Start by pouring the warm water into a mixing bowl. Add the granulated sugar and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Once your yeast is activated, add the olive oil and salt to the mixture. Stir until combined.
Gradually add the all-purpose flour, one cup at a time, stirring with a wooden spoon or spatula until the dough begins to come together.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 20-25 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release the air. Divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
Cover the shaped rolls with the kitchen towel again and let them rise for another 10-15 minutes, until they puff up slightly.
While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Once the rolls have risen, brush the tops with the melted butter. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm with butter or your favorite spread!
