Ingredients

For the Steak:
  • 4 pieces cubed steak (beef round sirloin) 16 ounces total
  • 3 large eggs with 1 tablespoon water
  • 1.25 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • Olive oil spray for crisping
  • White rice optional for serving
  • Lime wedges optional for serving

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Meat mallet or rolling pin
  • Cooking spray
  • Tongs

Method

Directions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Steak. Start by placing your cubed steak between two pieces of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Using a meat mallet or rolling pin, pound the steak to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
  2. Step 2: Set Up the Breading Station. In one bowl, whisk together the eggs and water until well combined. In another bowl, combine the seasoned breadcrumbs with the salt.
  3. Step 3: Bread the Steak. Dip each piece of cubed steak first into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Next, coat the steak thoroughly with the seasoned breadcrumbs.
  4. Step 4: Preheat the Air Fryer. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Air Fry the Breaded Steak. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Arrange the breaded cubed steak in a single layer in the basket.
  6. Step 6: Cooking Time. Air fry the breaded steak for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Step 7: Serve and Enjoy! Once cooked, remove the steak from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve it with white rice and lime wedges.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add spices like garlic powder or paprika to the breadcrumbs.
  • Freeze breaded steak before cooking, separated by parchment paper.
  • Experiment with different breadcrumbs for varied texture.
