Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ cup sweet Italian sausage cooked and cooled
  • cup cheddar cheese shredded, divided
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese shredded
  • 16 pieces button mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon green onion thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Mushrooms - Start by cleaning the mushrooms. Use a damp paper towel to gently wipe each mushroom to remove any dirt. After cleaning, carefully remove the stems from the mushrooms and set them aside.
  • Step 2: Make the Filling - In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix until smooth. Add the cooked sausage, ¼ cup of shredded cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until well combined.
  • Step 3: Stuff the Mushrooms - Fill each mushroom cap generously with the creamy sausage mixture.
  • Step 4: Air Fry the Stuffed Mushrooms - Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the stuffed mushrooms in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until tender and golden brown. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese halfway through cooking.
  • Step 5: Serve and Enjoy! - Once cooked, carefully remove the mushrooms from the air fryer. Garnish with green onions and serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in fresh herbs like parsley or basil. You can prepare the filling a day ahead and refrigerate it. If you prefer a spicier kick, use hot Italian sausage instead of sweet.
