Ingredients

Shrimp

  • 32 ounces 31/40 large shrimp, peeled, deveined, and tail off

Breading Mixture

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ tablespoon Frank’s RedHot hot sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs plus more as needed

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the shrimp with the Frank’s RedHot hot sauce and toss until evenly coated.
  • Step 3: Set up two shallow bowls; in the first, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In the second, whisk the egg and buttermilk until smooth.
  • Step 4: Dip each shrimp into the flour mixture, shake off excess, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally press into the Panko breadcrumbs.
  • Step 5: Arrange the coated shrimp in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Step 6: Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  • Step 7: Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crunch, add an additional ½ cup of Panko breadcrumbs. Ensure shrimp are patted dry before coating for better adherence.
