Ingredients

Ingredients:
  • 3 filets cod cut in half for even cooking
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning

Equipment

  • Baking Dish
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This temperature is perfect for achieving a beautifully baked cod with a slight golden crust.
  2. Step 2: Lightly grease a baking dish with a bit of olive oil or non-stick spray to prevent the fish from sticking.
  3. Step 3: Place the cut cod filets in the baking dish. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Step 4: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and Cajun seasoning. Whisk them together until well blended.
  5. Step 5: Pour the Cajun garlic butter mixture evenly over the seasoned cod filets.
  6. Step 6: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cod is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Step 7: Once the cod is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve it hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Keep an eye on the cod to avoid overcooking; it should flake easily.
  • Feel free to adjust the Cajun seasoning based on your spice preference.
  • Resting the cod after baking helps retain moisture.
