  • 1 tsp Sriracha adjust based on spice tolerance
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce or Tamari for gluten-free option use tamari
  • 2 tsp Rice Vinegar adds tangy depth
  • 2 tsp Sesame Oil for nutty flavor
  • 2 tsp Sunflower Oil for roasting
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

Equipment

  • Cutting Board
  • Sharp Knife
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula

Method

Preparation Steps:
  1. Begin by pressing the firm tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 15 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the miso paste, Sriracha, soy sauce (or tamari), rice vinegar, sesame oil, onion powder, and garlic powder. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
  3. After pressing, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes or rectangles.
  4. Add the tofu bites to the marinade, making sure each piece is well-coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes, or longer if you have the time.
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the marinated tofu bites in a single layer.
  7. Drizzle the sunflower oil over the tofu bites and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Once baked, remove the tofu bites from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Press the tofu well to avoid sogginess.
  • Don't crowd the baking sheet for crispy bites.
  • Marinate the tofu longer for deeper flavors.
