Ingredients

Cheese

  • 12 sticks mozzarella string cheese, cut in half and frozen Ensure they are frozen solid before breading.

Breading Ingredients

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Cheese - Cut the mozzarella string cheese into halves and freeze them for at least 30 minutes.
  • Step 2: Set Up Your Breading Station - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set up three shallow bowls for the breading process.
  • Step 3: Coat the Cheese Sticks - Dredge each frozen mozzarella stick in flour, dip in beaten egg, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Step 4: Bake the Mozzarella Sticks - Place the coated sticks on the prepared baking sheet, spray with cooking spray, and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Step 5: Serve with Marinara Sauce - Let the sticks cool slightly and serve with warm marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For guaranteed crunch, use Panko breadcrumbs. You can also experiment with different herbs and spices in the breadcrumb mixture.
