Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
For the Cream Cheese Layer:
  • 8 ounces cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
For the Pudding Layer:
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix (5.1 ounces)
  • 2 cups milk
For the Topping:
  • 3 pieces ripe bananas
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup chopped toasted pecans optional
  • 1/3 cup toasted sweetened shredded coconut

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Electric Mixer
  • 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • Rubber spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife and cutting board

Method

Preparation Steps:
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the 75 vanilla wafers, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup melted butter. Mix until the wafers are evenly coated and resemble damp sand. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of your 9x13-inch baking dish to form an even crust. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the 8 ounces of cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually add 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 cup of powdered sugar, mixing until well combined and fluffy. This will create the first layer of your delightful dessert.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix with 2 cups of milk until smooth. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
  4. Slice the 3 ripe bananas into thin rounds. On top of the crust, spread the cream cheese layer evenly. Next, add the sliced bananas and pour the prepared pudding mixture over the bananas, spreading it evenly.
  5. In a clean bowl, whip 2 cups of heavy cream with 1/2 cup of powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Carefully spread the whipped cream over the pudding layer to create a fluffy topping.
  6. If you’re using them, sprinkle the chopped toasted pecans and shredded coconut over the whipped cream layer for added texture and flavor.
  7. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible. This allows the flavors to meld and the dessert to set beautifully. When ready to serve, slice into squares and enjoy your Banana Cream Delight!
