Cooking Instructions:
- Step 1: Prepare Your Steak - Take your thick-cut steaks out of the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to reach room temperature.
- Step 2: Season Generously - Pat the steaks dry, drizzle with olive oil, and season with coarse salt and pepper.
- Step 3: Heat the Skillet - Preheat your skillet on high heat for about 5 minutes until sizzling.
- Step 4: Sear the Steaks - Place the steaks in the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until a dark crust forms.
- Step 5: Flip and Cook - Flip the steaks and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Use a thermometer to check for medium-rare (130°F).
- Step 6: Add the Blue Cheese - Crumble blue cheese on each steak in the last minute of cooking and cover to melt slightly.
- Step 7: Rest and Serve - Let the steaks rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Experiment with different cuts of steak like ribeye or sirloin.
- Try gorgonzola or feta cheese if blue cheese isn't preferred.
- Add fresh herbs for extra flavor.
- Consider adding cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
