Ingredients

For the Tilapia:
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh oregano or 1 teaspoon dried
  • 4 fillets tilapia about 6 ounces each
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh black pepper
  • 4 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons whole wheat seasoned breadcrumbs or gluten-free crumbs
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Equipment

  • Broiler-safe baking dish
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Sharp Knife
  • Spatula

Method

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Start by positioning your oven rack about 6 inches from the broiler element. Preheat your broiler on high.
  2. Lightly grease a broiler-safe baking dish with a drizzle of olive oil or cooking spray.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the chopped oregano, kosher salt, black pepper, and minced garlic. Place the tilapia fillets in the prepared baking dish and drizzle with olive oil. Rub the seasoning mixture onto each fillet.
  4. Sprinkle the seasoned breadcrumbs over the tilapia fillets, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Place the baking dish under the preheated broiler. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, or until the tilapia is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Once cooked, remove the tilapia from the oven and serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges.

Notes
