Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 pinch salt (omit if using salted butter)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (for flavor)

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Spatula
  • Jar or container

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the softened unsalted butter. Using an electric mixer or a whisk, beat the butter until it’s fluffy and creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Next, sprinkle in the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. If you’re using unsalted butter, add a tiny pinch of salt at this point. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Give your Brown Sugar Cinnamon Butter a taste. Adjust cinnamon if desired and transfer the mixture to your jar or container.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freeze for longer storage; it keeps up to 3 months.
  • Let it sit at room temperature to soften before using if too firm.
