Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage cooked and crumbled
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits 12-oz, 10-count
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 package Velveeta 8-oz, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder optional
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • Skillet
  • Whisk
  • Knife and cutting board

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for your casserole.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, crumbling it as it cooks. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  3. Open the can of refrigerated biscuits and cut each biscuit into quarters.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
  5. Add the crumbled sausage and cut biscuits to the bowl with the egg mixture. Fold in the cubed Velveeta cheese and shredded mozzarella.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set in the center.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving for cleaner slices.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese for unique flavors.
  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Assemble the casserole the night before and refrigerate; add extra baking time.
