Instructions
Step 1: Prepare your ingredients by quartering the red potatoes, cutting the corn, slicing the sausage, and halving the garlic and lemons.
Step 2: In a large pot, add 5 quarts of water and 12 ounces of beer. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
Step 3: Stir in the shrimp boil seasoning and 2 tablespoons of salt. Add the garlic heads and lemon halves, then add the quartered potatoes. Cover and boil for about 10 minutes until fork-tender.
Step 4: Add the smoked sausage and onion wedges to the pot. Cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Step 5: Stir in the halved corn ears and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 6: Add the raw shrimp and cook for 3–5 minutes until they turn bright pink and opaque.
Step 7: Turn off the heat and drain the pot into a colander. Serve on a large table covered with butcher paper or a towel, drizzle with melted butter, and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top.
Notes
Be careful not to overcook the shrimp. Adjust seasoning as needed before serving.
