Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 6 servings
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese room temperature
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese drained (not low fat)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips plus more for topping
  • Walkers Shortbread Cookies or other dippers for dipping or filling

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Spatula
  • Serving Bowl

Method

  1. Begin by ensuring your cream cheese is at room temperature. This will make it easier to mix and create a smooth texture. Place the cream cheese in your mixing bowl.
  2. Next, add the drained ricotta cheese to the bowl with the cream cheese. It’s essential to drain the ricotta properly, as excess moisture can make the dip too runny.
  3. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese and ricotta together until they are well combined and smooth. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the mixture. Continue mixing until everything is well blended and the mixture is fluffy.
  5. Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips using a spatula, being careful not to overmix. You want to maintain the light and airy texture of the dip.
  6. Transfer the Cannoli Cream Dip to a serving bowl and sprinkle additional mini chocolate chips on top for garnish. Serve alongside Walkers Shortbread Cookies or your favorite dippers. Enjoy this delightful treat with friends and family!

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free cream cheese and ricotta.
  • Make it festive by adding colorful sprinkles or seasonal dippers.
