Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (165g)
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (30g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup salted butter (115g)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate (225g)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (300g)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (50g)
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Rubber spatula
  • 9x9 inch Baking Pan
  • Parchment Paper
  • Oven
  • Cooling rack

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. Step 2: Line your 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  3. Step 3: Melt the salted butter and semisweet chocolate in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Step 4: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Pour the melted chocolate and butter mixture into the sugar and egg mixture, stirring until well combined.
  6. Step 6: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Step 7: Gently fold in the panko breadcrumbs, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  8. Step 8: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Step 9: Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the brownies immediately after removing them from the oven.
  10. Step 10: Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Don’t overbake; brownies should remain fudgy in the center.
  • Experiment with different types of panko for added flavor.
