Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar packed
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chopped

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Step 3: Add the eggs and egg yolk, and beat until well blended and smooth.
  • Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.

  • Step 6: Lightly grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet with cooking spray or butter.
  • Step 7: Spoon the cookie dough into the skillet, spreading it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until edges are golden and center is just set.
  • Step 8: Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving warm, optionally with ice cream.

Notes

For an extra rich flavor, use high-quality chocolate chips. Don't skip the creaming step for better texture.
