- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang on the sides.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Step 4: Mix in the creamy peanut butter and the egg yolk until well combined.
- Step 5: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, old-fashioned oats, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients.
- Step 6: Fold in the English toffee bits gently.
- Step 7: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Step 8: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Step 9: Remove from oven and sprinkle the chocolate and peanut butter chips over the top.
- Step 10: Allow to cool for 30 minutes before lifting out and cooling completely on a wire rack.
Notes
- Use softened butter for the best texture.
- Don’t overmix the batter to keep bars tender.
