Instructions:
- Step 1: Melt the Butter - In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the 2 tablespoons of salted butter. Allow it to melt completely, coating the bottom of the pan.
- Step 2: Toast the Rice - Once the butter is melted, add 1 cup of dry long-grain white rice to the saucepan. Stir the rice continuously for about 2-3 minutes until it becomes slightly golden and fragrant.
- Step 3: Add the Broth and Seasonings - Pour in 2 cups of low-sodium chicken broth, then add 1 teaspoon of kosher salt and 1 teaspoon of ground cumin. Stir to combine, bringing the mixture to a boil.
- Step 4: Simmer the Rice - Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a lid, and let it simmer for about 18-20 minutes.
- Step 5: Fluff and Flavor - After 20 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat without lifting the lid. Let it rest for an additional 5 minutes. Once rested, remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork. Stir in 2 tablespoons of lime juice and ½ cup of finely chopped fresh cilantro.
- Step 6: Serve and Enjoy - Taste the rice and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve it warm as a side dish or as part of your favorite meal.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
