Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice For a sweet and tangy base.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice To enhance the citrus flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon honey To add a natural sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard For a hint of spice and creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil To create a rich and smooth texture.
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt To enhance all the flavors.
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper For a touch of warmth.

Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Citrus juicer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Jar with a lid

Method

  1. Gather your ingredients. Freshly squeezed juices will provide the best flavor, so avoid bottled juices if possible.
  2. Using your citrus juicer, extract the juice from the oranges and lemons. You’ll need a total of 1/4 cup of orange juice and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the fresh orange juice, lemon juice, honey, and Dijon mustard.
  4. Slowly drizzle in the extra-virgin olive oil while whisking continuously. This will help to emulsify the dressing, creating a smooth and cohesive mixture.
  5. Add the kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to the dressing. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. If you're not using the dressing immediately, pour it into a jar with a lid and store it in the refrigerator. If you are serving it right away, drizzle it generously over your favorite salad.

Notes

  • Always use freshly squeezed juices for the best flavor.
  • Add more Dijon mustard or Greek yogurt for a thicker dressing.
  • This dressing can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
