Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Coleslaw Mix

  • 16 ounces prepared coleslaw mix Typically contains shredded cabbage and carrots.

Dressing Ingredients

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup milk
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup yellow onion, peeled and diced

Instructions

  • Step 1: Start with your 16-ounce bag of prepared coleslaw mix. If you prefer to make your own mix, shred half a head of cabbage and grate a couple of carrots.
  • Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, milk, granulated sugar, salt, pepper, white vinegar, and lemon juice. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 3: Add the prepared coleslaw mix to the bowl with your creamy dressing. Toss gently until well coated.
  • Step 4: Fold in the diced yellow onion for added flavor.
  • Step 5: Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

For a creamier dressing, use full-fat mayonnaise and adjust milk as needed. Letting the coleslaw sit for a few hours can enhance flavors.
