Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup cilantro leaves fresh
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest
  • 1-½ to 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice adjust to taste
  • 1 clove garlic minced (optional)
  • Kosher salt to taste

Method
 

  1. Gather your ingredients and ensure they are measured and ready to go.
  2. Rinse the cilantro leaves under cold water. Pat dry and chop roughly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream and mayonnaise. Blend until smooth.
  4. Stir in the chopped cilantro, lime zest, and lime juice. Add minced garlic if using.
  5. Add kosher salt gradually, tasting as you go, until desired flavor is reached.
  6. Cover the sauce and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
  • Freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to three months.
  • Always give the sauce a good stir before serving to recombine ingredients.
