Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 large bone-in skin-on chicken thighs about 1.5–2 lb total
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Paper Towels
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with nonstick cooking spray and preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the chicken thighs with the olive oil, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  4. Place the thighs in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket with the skin side down, leaving space between pieces for air circulation.
  5. Cook for 12 minutes, then flip the thighs using tongs and cook for an additional 10–13 minutes, until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (175°F preferred for tenderness).
  6. Remove the thighs and let them rest 3–5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Check doneness a few minutes early as air fryer performance varies.
  • If your air fryer runs cool, add a few minutes if needed.
  • Prefer 175°F for thighs if you like them more tender.
  • Cook in batches if doubling the recipe to avoid crowding.
