Crispy Frozen Chicken Patties In Air Fryer Recipe

Crispy breaded frozen chicken patties are air-fried until golden and assembled into quick chicken sandwiches with cheese and fresh toppings.
Prep Time 1 minute
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken patties, frozen and breaded
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 tbsp blue cheese dressing
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1/4 onion, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 tsp cilantro, fresh chopped

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Tongs
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • spatula or turner

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove frozen chicken patties from packaging and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket with space between each patty.
  3. Air fry at 400°F for 5 minutes, then flip the patties with tongs and air fry for an additional 5–7 minutes, until the exterior is golden and the patties are heated through.
  4. If using raw (not pre-cooked) chicken patties, continue cooking and check with a meat thermometer until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Place a slice of cheddar on each patty and air fry at 350°F for 1 minute, or until the cheese begins to melt.
  6. Toast buns in the air fryer briefly if desired. Assemble sandwiches by spreading blue cheese dressing and hot sauce on buns, topping with a chicken patty, lettuce leaf, sliced onion, sliced tomato, and chopped cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Follow package instructions if cook times differ for your brand of patties.
  • Space patties in a single layer for even crisping.
  • Check internal temperature for raw patties to ensure doneness.
  • Add cheese at the end so it melts but doesn't overcook.
  • Use tongs to flip patties to avoid tearing the breading.
