Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough or 1 package of pizza dough mix
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 pound powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Baking brush
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Rolling Pin

Method

  1. If you’re using a package of pizza dough mix, follow the instructions on the package to prepare it. If you’re using store-bought dough, let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to make it easier to roll out.
  2. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature will give your Cinnastix that perfect golden-brown color.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a rectangular shape, about 1/4 inch thick. Aim for a size that will fit comfortably on your baking sheet.
  4. Brush the melted butter evenly over the surface of the rolled-out dough. This is where the magic begins!
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture generously over the buttered dough, ensuring even coverage.
  6. Using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut the dough into strips. You can make them as thick or thin as you prefer. Aim for strips that are about 1 inch wide.
  7. Transfer your dough strips onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  8. While your Cinnastix are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  9. Once the Cinnastix are out of the oven, brush them with any remaining melted butter and drizzle your glaze over the warm sticks. Serve immediately and enjoy the delightful flavors of your homemade Dominos Cinnastix!

Notes

  • For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with coconut oil or plant-based margarine.
  • To reduce sugar, try coconut sugar or a sugar alternative like stevia.
  • You can freeze unbaked strips for up to 3 months; bake directly from the freezer.
