A quick, comforting baked ravioli casserole layered with marinara and melted cheeses for an easy weeknight meal.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes
Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces frozen cheese ravioli about two 12-ounce packages
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • fresh parsley optional, for sprinkling

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • Cooking spray or oil
  • Spatula or spoon

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or a thin layer of oil.
  2. Arrange a single layer of frozen cheese ravioli in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Spoon 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly over the ravioli, then sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella over the sauce.
  4. Repeat with another layer of ravioli, the remaining 1 cup marinara, and the remaining 1 cup mozzarella.
  5. Sprinkle the top evenly with 1/2 cup grated Parmesan. If desired, cover loosely with foil to prevent over-browning.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the dish is heated through; uncover for the last few minutes if you want more browning.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley, if using, before serving.

Notes

  • I used two 12-ounce packages of frozen cheese ravioli, totaling about 24–30 ounces.
  • Fresh ravioli will cook faster; start checking after 10–15 minutes to avoid overcooking.
  • If the top browns too quickly, tent with foil while baking.
  • A sprinkle of dried oregano or parsley on top is optional and delicious.
