Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 large yellow onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey meat
  • 25 ounces tomato sauce

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Measuring Spoons

Method

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of avocado oil. Allow it to warm up for about a minute.
  2. Add the chopped yellow onion to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent. Then, stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, until fragrant.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add 1 pound of lean ground turkey meat to the skillet. Use your wooden spoon to break the meat apart and cook until it's browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour in the 25 ounces of tomato sauce, stirring well to combine. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
  5. Taste your sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed. You can add salt, pepper, or even a pinch of red pepper flakes for a kick.
  6. Once your Easy Ground Turkey Bolognese is ready, serve it over your favorite pasta, zucchini noodles, or even rice. Garnish with fresh herbs or grated cheese if desired.
