Equipment

Ingredients

Ingredients for Blackberry Sauce

  • 4 cups Blackberries Fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Optional, only if using fresh berries
  • 1 tablespoon Water Only if using fresh berries

Instructions

  • Step 1: If using fresh blackberries, rinse them under cold water and pat dry. For frozen blackberries, use them straight from the freezer.
  • Step 2: In a medium saucepan, combine blackberries and granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir gently to coat the blackberries with sugar.
  • Step 3: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. If using fresh blackberries, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl until smooth. Once the blackberries bubble, add the cornstarch mixture and stir for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  • Step 4: Remove from heat and stir in fresh lemon juice. Allow to cool slightly before serving or storing.

Notes

For a smoother sauce, use an immersion blender. Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
