Easy Slow Cooker Chicken Drumsticks (5 Ingredients!)

Tender, saucy slow-cooked chicken drumsticks made with just five pantry ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 pounds chicken drumsticks about 12 drumsticks
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 clove garlic minced finely (or 1 teaspoon minced garlic)

  • Small Bowl
  • Whisk or fork
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cooking spray

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, and minced garlic until smooth.
  2. Spray the slow cooker insert with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Place the chicken drumsticks in the bottom of the slow cooker, arranging in a single layer if possible (they may be stacked if needed).
  4. Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the drumsticks, turning the pieces to coat if they are stacked.
  5. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 hours, until the chicken reaches at least 160°F and is tender (170–175°F preferred).
  6. Remove the drumsticks and serve warm.

Notes

  • Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours.
  • Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer; 160°F is cooked, 170–175°F is more tender.
  • Placing drumsticks in a single layer helps them get evenly sauced.
  • If stacking, toss the chicken in the sauce before serving.
  • Chicken thighs, legs, or wings can be used as substitutions.
  • Freeze only after cooling and ensure fully defrosted before slow cooking.
