Instructions:
- Step 1: Prepare the Edamame - Begin by cooking your edamame. You can steam them or boil them in salted water for about 5 minutes until tender. Drain and let cool slightly before proceeding.
- Step 2: Blend the Ingredients - In a food processor, combine the cooked edamame, tahini paste, lemon zest, lemon juice, crushed garlic, and salt. Pulse until the ingredients are roughly combined.
- Step 3: Add Water - With the processor running, slowly add in the 1/4 cup of water. Continue to blend until you reach a creamy consistency. If the hummus is too thick, add more water a tablespoon at a time until it’s just right.
- Step 4: Season to Taste - Taste your hummus and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper as needed. This is your chance to make it perfect for your palate!
- Step 5: Serve and Garnish - Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with black and white sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Freeze for up to three months in a freezer-safe container.
- Thaw overnight in the fridge before serving; add water to restore creaminess if needed.
