Ingredients
  

For the Cake:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: Grease your baking pan and line with parchment paper.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Step 4: In another bowl, mix the water, vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
  5. Step 5: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Step 6: Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Step 7: Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Step 8: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Keep the cake covered at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze the cake wrapped tightly for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat in the microwave or oven for a warm treat.
