Instructions
Step 1: Gather all your ingredients. Ensure the tilapia fillets are thawed if previously frozen, and cut them in half if needed to fit your hamburger buns.
Step 2: In one bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In a second bowl, beat the two eggs. In a third bowl, place the bread crumbs.
Step 3: Dredge each piece of tilapia in the flour mixture, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat in the bread crumbs.
Step 4: Preheat a skillet over medium heat and grease it with olive oil spray. Cook the breaded fish fillets for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Step 5: Toast the hamburger buns and assemble the sandwiches with a cooked fish fillet, a slice of cheese, shredded lettuce, and tartar sauce.
Step 6: For the tartar sauce, mix mayonnaise, chopped pickles, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl.
Step 7: Serve your sandwiches immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
For extra crunch, use panko bread crumbs. Ensure the oil is hot enough before adding the fish for a golden color.
