Ingredients

  • 1 cup Birch Benders Protein pancake mix
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray (for frying)
  • 12 Oreo cookie thins
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar or to taste

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Frying pan or deep fryer
  • Slotted spoon or tongs
  • Plate lined with paper towels
  • Sifter

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of Birch Benders Protein pancake mix, 6 tablespoons of water, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whisk until you achieve a smooth and thick batter.
  2. In a frying pan or deep fryer, heat enough oil to cover the Oreos halfway to about 350°F (175°C).
  3. Take each Oreo cookie thin and dip it into the batter, allowing excess batter to drip off before frying.
  4. Carefully place the coated Oreos into the hot oil; fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  5. Using a slotted spoon or tongs, remove the fried Oreos from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Dust with confectioners' sugar while still warm.

Notes

  • Feel free to use any pancake mix if Birch Benders isn't available.
  • For a traditional experience, use regular Oreos instead of cookie thins.
  • Ensure oil is at the right temperature to avoid greasy Oreos.
