Ingredients
  

For the Wontons:
  • 8 oz raw shrimp shelled and deveined
  • 12 pieces wonton wrappers
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise for dipping
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 dashes ground black pepper

Method
 

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Shrimp Filling - Finely chop the raw shrimp in a mixing bowl.
  2. Step 2: Season the Shrimp - Add the salt, fish sauce, sesame oil, and ground black pepper to the chopped shrimp. Mix well.
  3. Step 3: Assemble the Wontons - Lay out a wonton wrapper, place about a teaspoon of shrimp mixture in the center, moisten edges, and fold to seal.
  4. Step 4: Heat the Oil - In a deep fryer or heavy pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
  5. Step 5: Fry the Wontons - Fry wontons for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Step 6: Prepare the Dipping Sauce - Mix mayonnaise in a small bowl, and add extra seasoning if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure wonton wrappers are fresh to avoid cracking.
  • Don’t overfill the wrappers for proper sealing.
  • Maintain oil temperature for crispy wontons.
