Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1.25 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks, divided Reserve 1/4 cup for topping.

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  • Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt. Slowly add sifted cocoa powder and flour, whisking until smooth.
  • Step 3: In another bowl, whisk together eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until frothy.
  • Step 4: Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined.
  • Step 5: Fold in 3/4 cup of chocolate chunks, reserving 1/4 cup for topping.
  • Step 6: Pour batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle remaining chocolate chunks on top, and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Step 7: Let cool for 10-15 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For fudgier brownies, bake for a shorter time. You can also add nuts or dried fruits for variations.
