Ingredients

  • 2 eggs eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt Enhances chocolate flavor
  • 1 cup sugar Adds sweetness and fudgy texture
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract For flavor depth
  • ½ cup unsalted butter Provides richness and moisture
  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped For deep chocolate flavor
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour Holds everything together

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • 9x9 inch Baking Pan
  • Parchment Paper
  • Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
  • Cooling rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped chocolate and butter. Heat gently until melted and smooth.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Add the chocolate mixture and stir until fully incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. While the brownies are baking, prepare the ganache. Combine 6 ounces of chocolate with ½ cup of heavy cream. Heat the cream until just simmering, then pour it over the chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  7. Once the brownies are baked, let them cool for about 10 minutes. Lift them out using parchment paper and let them cool completely on a wire rack. Pour the ganache over the brownies.
  8. Allow the ganache to set at room temperature or refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Cut the brownies into squares and serve.
