Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil if desired for easier cleanup.
Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and place it skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, chopped parsley, and lemon zest until evenly mixed.
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of the salmon fillet.
Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Remove from the oven and squeeze lemon wedges over the salmon before serving.
