Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 12 oz pasta of your choice (spaghetti or linguine work great)
  • 1 tablespoon salt (for the pasta water)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 6 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Colander
  • Skillet
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Instructions
  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Once boiling, add the 12 oz of pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta in a colander.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons of butter along with 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Once melted, add the thinly sliced garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes, or until the garlic is golden and fragrant. Be careful not to burn it!
  3. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sautéed garlic. Toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is well-coated in the buttery garlic mixture.
  4. Gradually add reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until you achieve your desired sauce consistency. The starchy water will help create a silky sauce that clings to the pasta.
  5. Stir in the chopped fresh parsley and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well to combine all the flavors.
  6. Plate the Garlic Parsley Pasta, garnishing with additional parsley if desired. Enjoy immediately for the best flavor and texture!

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, consider adding a splash of heavy cream.
  • Feel free to add protein like grilled chicken or shrimp for a heartier meal.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
