  • 2 tbsp packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp orange juice fresh
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper for heat
For the Sliders:
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp oil for cooking
  • 3 cups shredded coleslaw mix
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise for slaw dressing
  • 8 pieces slider sandwich rolls for serving

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula or tongs

Method

Directions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Sauce - In a mixing bowl, combine the Simply Asia General Tso Stir-Fry Sauce, brown sugar, orange juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and crushed red pepper. Mix well until the brown sugar is dissolved and all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Step 2: Cook the Chicken - Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. When the oil is hot, add the chicken to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until browned and cooked through.
  3. Step 3: Add the Sauce - Once the chicken is cooked, pour the prepared sauce over it in the skillet. Stir to coat the chicken evenly. Reduce heat to medium and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Make the Crunchy Slaw - In a separate mixing bowl, combine the shredded coleslaw mix and mayonnaise. Toss until the cabbage is well coated.
  5. Step 5: Assemble the Sliders - Split the slider sandwich rolls in half. On the bottom half, place a generous spoonful of the General Tso's chicken, topped with a spoonful of the crunchy slaw, then place the top half over it.
  6. Step 6: Serve and Enjoy! - Arrange the sliders on a platter and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can freeze the cooked chicken for up to 3 months.
  • Consider using chicken thighs or tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • Add more veggies like shredded carrots or bell peppers to the slaw for added nutrition.
