Ingredients

  • 1 package Oreo cookies crushed
  • 1 package cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 cup turkey bacon cooked and crumbled
  • Gummy worms for decoration

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Electric mixer or hand whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • 9x9 inch baking dish or trifle bowl
  • Spatula
  • Food processor or plastic bag and rolling pin

Method

  1. Crush the entire package of Oreo cookies using a food processor or a sealed plastic bag and rolling pin. Set aside about one cup of crumbs for topping.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Prepare the instant chocolate pudding according to package instructions using the cup of milk. Once thickened, fold the pudding into the cream cheese mixture gently. Then fold in the whipped topping, keeping the mixture light and airy.
  4. Spread a layer of crushed Oreos at the bottom of your dish to create the dirt base. Add a thick layer of the chocolate cream cheese pudding mixture on top. Sprinkle half of the crumbled turkey bacon over this layer.
  5. Add another layer of crushed Oreos, followed by the remaining pudding mixture. Finish with the reserved Oreo crumbs.
  6. Scatter gummy worms on the top layer. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Use reduced-fat cream cheese or lighter whipped toppings to make the dessert lighter.
  • Cook turkey bacon until extra crispy and crumble just before assembling to keep crunch.
  • Store the cake covered in the fridge for up to 3 days; add gummy worms just before serving for freshness.
