Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Grill
  • Resealable Plastic Bag

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts

Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder

Marinade

  • 1 lime zested and quartered
  • 0.25 cup honey

Garnish

  • to taste lime slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Step 1: In a medium bowl, combine the honey, lime zest, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and chili powder. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.
  • Step 2: Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the prepared marinade over the chicken, ensuring that each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for maximum flavor.
  • Step 3: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • Step 4: Once the grill is hot, remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off. Grill each side for about 6-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • Step 5: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Slice the chicken, and garnish with lime slices if desired.

Notes

For even more flavor, consider adding a splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce to the marinade. Letting the chicken rest after grilling is crucial to achieving tender, juicy meat.
