Ingredients

Spice Rub

  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Ribs

  • 3-4 pounds beef or beef ribs

Optional Glaze

  • barbecue sauce Your favorite for glazing

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Ribs. Preheat your grill to medium heat. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if not already done.
  • Step 2: Mix the Spice Rub. In a small bowl, combine the cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  • Step 3: Season the Ribs. Generously rub the spice mixture all over both sides of the ribs. Let them rest for about 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Step 4: Grill the Ribs. Place the seasoned ribs on the grill grates, bone side down, and cook for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
  • Step 5: Optional Glaze. Brush barbecue sauce onto the ribs during the last 10-15 minutes of grilling.
  • Step 6: Let Them Rest. Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for about 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
