Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely diced onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Large Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Instant-read thermometer

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, seasoned bread crumbs, diced onion, chopped parsley, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Gently mix the ingredients with your hands until evenly combined; avoid overworking the meat to keep patties tender.
  3. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions, roll each into a ball, then flatten each into a patty about 3/4-inch thick.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  5. Place patties in the hot skillet (do not overcrowd) and cook 2–4 minutes per side, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center reads 165°F.
  6. If desired, add cheese to each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  7. Cook remaining patties in batches as needed and transfer cooked patties to a plate to rest briefly before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–4 days.
  • Freeze patties in a single layer with parchment between them for up to 1 month.
  • Reheat wrapped in foil in a 350°F oven until warm or microwave briefly.
  • Cook patties in batches if scaling the recipe up to avoid overcrowding the pan.
