Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 cubes Chicken bouillon See note
  • 4 cups Water Boiling
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • ¼ cup Yellow onion Chopped
  • 1 pound Lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons Cooked bacon Crumpled, see note
  • 1 teaspoon Ground mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • 16 ounces Elbow macaroni Or any short pasta
  • cup Sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups Mozzarella cheese Shredded
  • 1 ½ cups Cheddar cheese Shredded

Instructions

  • Step 1: In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, add in the 2 cubes of chicken bouillon, stirring until dissolved.
  • Step 2: In the same pot, add 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the ¼ cup of chopped yellow onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 3: Add 1 pound of lean ground beef to the pot. Season with 1 teaspoon of ground mustard powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of pepper. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Step 4: Stir in 16 ounces of elbow macaroni into the pot. Pour the prepared broth over the pasta, bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer until pasta is al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Step 5: Remove from heat and stir in ⅓ cup of sour cream until combined.
  • Step 6: Gradually add in 1 ½ cups of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 ½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted.
  • Step 7: Fold in 2 tablespoons of crumbled cooked bacon and stir to distribute.

Notes

Ensure to stir the pasta occasionally while it cooks to prevent sticking. Adjust seasonings to taste.
