Instructions
Step 1: In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, add in the 2 cubes of chicken bouillon, stirring until dissolved.
Step 2: In the same pot, add 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the ¼ cup of chopped yellow onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 3: Add 1 pound of lean ground beef to the pot. Season with 1 teaspoon of ground mustard powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of pepper. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 4: Stir in 16 ounces of elbow macaroni into the pot. Pour the prepared broth over the pasta, bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer until pasta is al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
Step 5: Remove from heat and stir in ⅓ cup of sour cream until combined.
Step 6: Gradually add in 1 ½ cups of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 ½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted.
Step 7: Fold in 2 tablespoons of crumbled cooked bacon and stir to distribute.
Notes
Ensure to stir the pasta occasionally while it cooks to prevent sticking. Adjust seasonings to taste.
