Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup low-fat yogurt or Greek yogurt can be fat-free
  • 1/2 cup fat-free milk or full cream milk dairy or dairy-free
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder or unflavored with splash of vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp flax meal
  • 1 tbsp acai berry powder optional

Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • Glass or mason jar

Method
 

  1. Gather your ingredients to make the blending process smoother.
  2. In your blender, combine the ripe banana, frozen blueberries, yogurt, and milk. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the protein powder and nut butter to the mixture. Blend again until everything is fully incorporated.
  4. Add the chia seeds and flax meal. Pulse a few times to combine, ensuring not to over-blend.
  5. If using acai berry powder, sprinkle it in and give it one last quick blend.
  6. Taste your smoothie. If desired, add a splash of honey or a few more blueberries, then blend again.
  7. Pour your smoothie into a glass or mason jar, and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use frozen blueberries for a thicker texture.
  • Don’t skip the nut butter for added richness.
  • Ensure your blender is powerful for smooth consistency.
