- Measure 4 oz cream cheese and place it in a medium mixing bowl (cream cheese should be softened).
- Chop 1 tablespoon chives and 1 tablespoon parsley; set aside.
- Zest a lemon to yield 1/8 teaspoon lemon zest. Finely mince garlic to measure 1/8 teaspoon.
- Add the chopped chives, chopped parsley, 1/8 teaspoon lemon zest, and 1/8 teaspoon minced garlic to the bowl with the cream cheese.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix everything together with a fork or spatula until the mixture is smooth and the herbs and seasonings are evenly distributed, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Taste and adjust salt and pepper if desired. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
