Herb and Garlic Cream Cheese

A simple herbed cream cheese spread made with chives, parsley, lemon zest, and garlic.

  • 1 tablespoonchiveschopped
  • 1 tablespoonsparsleychopped
  • 1/8 teaspoonlemon zest
  • 1/8 teaspoongarlicfinely minced
  • salt & pepperto taste

  • Fork or spatula

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Measure 4 oz cream cheese and place it in a medium mixing bowl (cream cheese should be softened).
  2. Chop 1 tablespoon chives and 1 tablespoon parsley; set aside.
  3. Zest a lemon to yield 1/8 teaspoon lemon zest. Finely mince garlic to measure 1/8 teaspoon.
  4. Add the chopped chives, chopped parsley, 1/8 teaspoon lemon zest, and 1/8 teaspoon minced garlic to the bowl with the cream cheese.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Mix everything together with a fork or spatula until the mixture is smooth and the herbs and seasonings are evenly distributed, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
  7. Taste and adjust salt and pepper if desired. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
