Servings: 16 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 package Sister Schubert's yeast dinner rolls 16 rolls per package
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 16 Member’s Mark Southern Style Chicken Bites frozen or ready-to-heat chicken nuggets

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Aluminum Foil
  • small microwave-safe bowl
  • silicone basting brush
  • Air Fryer
  • Plate
  • Butter Knife

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet and arrange the dinner rolls spaced slightly apart; cover the rolls loosely with aluminum foil.
  2. Bake the covered rolls for about 15 minutes, or until they are lightly browned and warmed through, then remove the foil.
  3. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in 10-second intervals until fully liquid. Stir in the honey and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Brush the tops of the hot rolls evenly with the honey-butter mixture using a silicone brush.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C). Place the chicken bites in a single layer in the basket—do not overcrowd—and cook for about 5 minutes or until heated through and crispy.
  6. Return the rolls to the oven, uncovered, for 5 minutes to set the glaze and finish warming; then remove and let the rolls cool for 3–5 minutes so they are easy to handle.
  7. Using a butter knife, slice each roll horizontally about halfway through. Place one chicken bite inside each roll.
  8. Optional: Drizzle additional honey over the assembled chicken minis if desired, then serve warm.

Notes

  • For a Chick-fil-A–style flavor, add a few drops of dill pickle juice to nuggets before heating.
  • If making a large batch, keep cooked nuggets warm in a 200°F oven while assembling.
  • Apply the honey-butter glaze while rolls are hot, but assemble after rolls cool 3–5 minutes.
