Instructions

  • Step 1: Gather all ingredients and rinse basil leaves thoroughly. Pat dry.
  • Step 2: (Optional) Toast pine nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until golden.
  • Step 3: In a food processor, combine basil, garlic, toasted pine nuts, salt, and pepper. Pulse until finely chopped.
  • Step 4: With the processor running, slowly drizzle in olive oil until emulsified and smooth.
  • Step 5: Add grated Parmesan cheese and pulse until combined. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Step 6: Serve immediately with pasta or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for 5-7 days or freeze in ice cube trays for longer storage.
