Ingredients

Filling
  • 6 ounces pepperoni chopped
  • 1/2 cup Italian sausage cooked, drained, and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese divided use
  • 1/2 cup chopped scallions
  • 2 tablespoons pizza seasoning divided use
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups marinara sauce
Dough
  • 2 (1-pound) packages pizza dough
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Rolling Pin
  • Knife or pizza cutter
  • Brush

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped pepperoni, cooked and crumbled Italian sausage, half of the shredded Parmesan cheese, chopped scallions, and one tablespoon of pizza seasoning. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). On a floured surface, roll out one package of pizza dough into a rectangle, about ¼ inch thick. Aim for an even thickness to ensure even cooking.
  3. Spread the filling mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the filling for that gooey texture we all love.
  4. Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a log, making sure to keep the filling contained. Pinch the seams to seal the roll securely.
  5. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the rolled dough into 1-inch thick pieces. Place each piece cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the remaining olive oil with the other tablespoon of pizza seasoning. Brush this mixture over the tops of the pizza rolls to enhance flavor and create a beautiful golden crust.
  7. Bake the pizza rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-browning.
  8. Once baked, remove the pizza rolls from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
