Preparation Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped pepperoni, cooked and crumbled Italian sausage, half of the shredded Parmesan cheese, chopped scallions, and one tablespoon of pizza seasoning. Stir until well mixed.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). On a floured surface, roll out one package of pizza dough into a rectangle, about ¼ inch thick. Aim for an even thickness to ensure even cooking.
- Spread the filling mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the filling for that gooey texture we all love.
- Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a log, making sure to keep the filling contained. Pinch the seams to seal the roll securely.
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the rolled dough into 1-inch thick pieces. Place each piece cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix the remaining olive oil with the other tablespoon of pizza seasoning. Brush this mixture over the tops of the pizza rolls to enhance flavor and create a beautiful golden crust.
- Bake the pizza rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-browning.
- Once baked, remove the pizza rolls from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
