Method

Steps
  1. Step 1: Gather Ingredients. Collect all your ingredients and equipment to ensure a smooth cooking process.
  2. Step 2: Combine Base Ingredients. In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of sour cream or Greek yogurt and ½ cup of mayonnaise. Use a whisk to blend these two creamy bases together until smooth.
  3. Step 3: Add Liquid Ingredients. Pour in 2 to 4 tablespoons of buttermilk (or any milk of your choice) to achieve your desired consistency. Whisk again to combine.
  4. Step 4: Mix in Seasonings. Add the dried dill, fresh lemon juice, distilled white vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  5. Step 5: Taste and Adjust. Take a small taste of your dressing. If you prefer a stronger flavor, feel free to add more salt, dill, or a splash more of vinegar or lemon juice.
  6. Step 6: Optional Fresh Herbs. If desired, fold in the chopped chives and fresh dill for an extra kick of flavor and color.
  7. Step 7: Chill and Serve. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer your dressing to a storage container. Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve with salads, as a dip, or drizzled over your favorite dishes!

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
  • For a vegan version, use vegan mayonnaise and plant-based yogurt.
  • Adjust the thickness by adding more sour cream or yogurt if too thin.
