Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Slotted Spoon
  • Paper Towels

Ingredients

Bacon

  • 10 strips bacon, cut into small pieces

Onion

  • 0.5 cup white onion, peeled and chopped

Sauces

  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup barbecue sauce

Pineapple

  • 20 ounces canned crushed pineapple, drained

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon chili powder

Hot Dogs

  • 5 pieces hot dogs, cut into small slices

Baked Beans

  • 56 ounces canned brown sugar baked beans (2 cans)

Instructions

  • Step 1: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the cut bacon pieces. Cook until crispy, stirring occasionally, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
  • Step 2: In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add the chopped onion. Sauté until softened and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 3: Add the sliced hot dogs to the skillet. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until they start to brown. Stir in the cooked bacon, ketchup, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, drained crushed pineapple, Worcestershire sauce, ground mustard powder, and chili powder. Mix thoroughly.
  • Step 4: Gently fold in the canned baked beans. Ensure all ingredients are well combined.
  • Step 5: Lower the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 6: Serve and enjoy! This dish can be paired with crusty bread, coleslaw, or a fresh green salad.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using smoked bacon. You can use turkey or chicken hot dogs for a lighter option. If you like spice, add more chili powder or diced jalapeños.
